VAT on safety boots and shoes: Safety boots are zero-rated for VAT as long as we are supplying the end user (ie the person who will be wearing them), or another retailer or wholesaler. If we supply safety boots to a employer who is buying them for their employees, HMRC regulations say that we have to charge VAT. For some strange reason, safety shoes (as opposed to boots) are subject to VAT at the standard rate

All our safety boots are priced without VAT - ie the price that you will be charged at checkout. If you are buying boots for employees, please advise us and we will raise an additional VAT-only invoice - thank you.
